Bet each blade is different.

Yes each one is different. The top two are a 40 tooth and an 80 tooth Oldham carbide. Those I consider throw away. They get used to cut stuff that may have embedded metal or other things. If I chip a tooth I will just throw it away and get a new one. I ran across a deal on the 80 tooth a few years ago for $10 each. I bought three.

I certainly don't want to use my $120 Forrest Woodworker II or the SS blades for that matter on questionable wood.

There is a 6" SS dado set on an arbor sitting on the inside of the rack just below the bottom blade.

Nice sled John. My simple shop made crosscut sled is my safest, favorite and most used tool and was made from scrap. I have never seen such a gi-normous sled but I see a need for it fairly often.

I would enjoy seeing the under-side of that sled if you could post another picture please. Thx!

I included a picture of just the frame on the SS also. If you look at the last cross piece (out feed end) there are no cutouts for the miter bars. It acts as a stop so the blade is never exposed behind the fence on the operators end. There are actually two bumpers on that cross piece now to set the distance. They can be seen in the first post of the frame hanging on the wall. There is also a block of wood attached to the outside of the fence on the operators side. It acts as a blade guard since the blade dose have to pass partially through the fence to get maximum depth of cut.

The miter bars are hard Maple. They are quarter sawn to minimize expansion across the width due to changes in humidity.

Thanks guys. Yes it is my own design. I have the sled that SS sells which works fine but at one point years ago I needed one with a larger capacity. While I was at it I thought it may as well be as large as practical. It will cut 29" wide or maybe a little more.

John you are definitely the record holder for the coolest jig for the SS. That sled is an amazing testament to the versatility of the SS !

Thanks Paul. It gets a lot of use. It pretty much lives on the MK V. Although not in the last few months because the MK V has been used extensively in my 10ER restore.
