I had to take about 3 to 4 thousands off (according to the digital calipers), so I should be good to go. Do the other one tomorrow (maybe, have possible snow coming in :( )

Woot, a treasure trove of tools.
That set up did a great job on the way tubes.
When I did mine I used the tie bar,(the cast iron and a bit of oil made a good bearing), clamped in a Zyliss vise at one end of the bench, and an electric drill and expansion plug at the other.
However I didn't have a working Shopsmith at the time. ;)

edit Found pictures of my setup

I hear you, this is the second time I have used this rig on the Mark 7. I run it at the 250 RPM speed which helps. It has worked perfectly again so far. I may have to make a "muzzle" on the free end to give the quill something to push against (had to do that the last time), but so far my "plug" is working like I knew what i was doing .... :D

How do you get it down to 250rpm, a speed reducer? I was doing mine on a greenie at bottom rpm 700ish, and sweating my front teeth.
Looked back at your pics, I see said the blind man, after removing his dark glasses :o On a PP

History comes full circle. A Mark 7 being used to (re)make an 10ER.

Steve, living in Mesa I'm sure you've been to the enormous flea market. It could be fun to have a Shopsmith booth there.

Dick, Never mind. My system was a little slow at the moment. It didn't show the second page until after I sent the above reply...

Excellent job!!!!! I love the simplicity of your polishing rig..........

Congratulations on your find!

All the best,
Mike

Why not?

They're STILL using Model 10s to make the Mark 7, from what I've heard.
