When I put it on the table saw (Shopsmith 500), I noticed that the material was something like molded Masonite. I was in a hurry to get the car packed, get the wife packed up and be on the road to see our daughter. I didn't take the time to don my respirator. Shame! A few days later, I developed a cough. It felt like a chest cold. Figuring that it would go away in a few days, with OTC treatments, it got tighter in the chest over the next 2 weeks. Went to doc who said, you have a moderate case of bronchitis. Some breathing treatments and antibiotics later, I am doing better. But,they gave me the third degree about smoking. I have not smoked in 46 years, but got to thinking of what I had been breathing. It was the dust of the one cut board and sanding it which produced much dust. I am still coughing, not contagious, but tired from coughing so much. Keep your health so we can continue using these wonderful machines and making family and friends happy.

Masonite, MDF, OSB, have so many adhesives/binders in it, some up to 30%, worst thing in the world for you. that is one reason they weigh so much, compared to wood. Lung Poison!!!

I have a belt cleaner that I bought so many years ago that I can no longer remember where I bought it. It sits in my Shopsmith cabinet to be used whenever I need it. It is already over 20 years old, and will likely last me another 20 years, so I don't have to go shopping for another one.
However, if I ever need another one, I'll just get it at Menards. They have them for $3 and change.

I have used many a pair of worn out gum sole shoes in that process through the years. I had an old box chock full of them I picked up at a garage sale one day for $1.
A few cuts with a razor knife to clear the material I needed, and I was set for years. Gave away a bunch to friends with belt sanders who didn't believe it until they saw it work.
Curiously gum sole shoes are being sold today. I want to get my hands on a sample to see if it is the same material and would work the same.
Just search gum sole shoes and you will see what I mean.

Cough, cough. But, the Lisinopril cough can easily be handled by warming up your neck and chest. Once warm, it goes away.
