The bore fits the upper auxiliary spindle. But there's two set screws. And they're not 5/32 Allen. I think I measured the threads to be 1/2" diameter.

I had one of these come through my hands as well. my guess is either buffing or grinding wheel adapter. Probably meant for a standard shaft motor, but works on the SS well enough

I sent off an e-mail to Lester Detterbeck Enterprises, Ltd. with your photos, hoping they are the manufacturer and can give us an answer.

Looks like an arbor that came with my 10E. Actual source unknown. Set screw threads 1/4 - 28(UNF).

Others that came with it have 1/8" hex single set screw which I believe are SS origin(one of the three SS tools in in the 'tool kit'.


Regardless it works for an arbor.

Now it may be time to re-contact that Craigslist seller and send them a photo of the rest of the part. It may be there still.

Years ago my neighbor bought several items in a sale down our street when a lady was cleaning out a shed. A box had a small part that he later identified was a part of something.

He walked down to the house and asked the lady if she had the rest of it, showing her a picture of a complete one.

She helped him search in the garage, which was full of her late husbands tools, car parts, and junk as she put it.

Not only did he find the rest of it, but she showed him a 5 gallon plastic bucket that the lady told him he could have if he would just carry it off. It was too heavy for her to move and it was in her way.

In it he found two draw knives, a small shoulder plane, a block plane (both valued at over $100 each) and a series of Stanley’s.

All that for just following up with her trying to find the missing piece.

Two weeks later she came down and asked him if he would like first pick on everything in the garage, before she had her daughter hold a garage sale to clean it out. She gave him everything he sought to purchase, because he had been kind to her.

I asked him what he got there and he just smiled.

You just never know. They may have nothing, but it could be worth contacting them if you still have a way.
