My wife thinks I have a problem, maybe you can relate?

I've spotted the problem. You have no 10ER, Mark VII, Goldie, 510, 520, and Mark 7. Not to mention none are hybrids (500 w/PowerPro). Your wife is obviously concerned about the obvious incompleteness of your SS collection.

Way too much other stuff and not enough space

I'm starting to control my problem. I had a 10E, a 10ER, a Greenie, a 500 and a 510. SPT's were a bandsaw, a belt sander and a jig (Scroll) saw. In the last 2 weeks I've sold the bandsaw and the 10E. I have room for and can currently justify the remaining SS.

You left out purses.db5 wrote:one person's addiction is another person's necessity; e.g., "Why do you need 10 bottles of nail polish and 10 tubes of lipstick? Oh, and the shoes; do you really need all those shoes? I have only three, one for yard/shop work, one for everyday and one for dress. That's all I need. Why do you need so many?"
I can relate to Farmer's need to acquire. At that time it did not appear that SS Inc. would survive. Getting spare parts was my goal then as well.

Mine does too! I love her and I have made a commitment to love her dispite her issues!
Is there anything special about the 50th anniversary Mark 5? There's one on Craigslist that keeps nudging me! (But my itch is for more greenies...maybe with a 520 table kit?)
I also was thinking if anyone has a bad powerhead it could be cut in half and made into a wall piece with one tube as a hanging rod!!!

Yes! They are virtually new, in Shopsmith years. Which means that I don't understand most of the headstock-repair details discussed in the Maintenance & Repair forum, because I've never had to open up my golden-anniversary headstock. Except to squirt in some graphite and zoom-spout oil through the access port, of course.silenthope wrote:Mine does too! I love her and I have made a commitment to love her dispite her issues!

Edit: My 520 (acquired second-hand) is a just bit over 10 years old. Not quite a teenager. Still just a baby, really.
