My birthday is earlier in the month and his later so maybe that has something to do with it? I think I recall seeing something to that effect but maybe that was for something else entirely???

My retirement checks come at the end of the month so I get paid twice a month which is rather nice.

Interesting. Could be very true about the birthday. Lots of things with SS depend on your birthday. If there is a weekend or holiday my SS check is in the account before not after. The same is true with my Civil Service Retirement check. The difference comes with my military retirement check. It always comes in on the due date (First of the month) unless it is a weekend/holiday. Then it comes in before the first.

Steve, the old swampgator
Steve, the reason people retire is so they have time to make all those trip to "visit" with the Doctor and have him tell you all the wonderful new drugs you need to make you "better" so you can come and see him more. :D

What am I going to do? Get an extra older this year then the other 3.
Are you referring to Social Security checks (SS :D )? My SS payday is the second Wednesday of every month according to SS but the money is always in my account on Tuesday. Is there a difference on when they pay you based on when you retired/applied?
IIRC it has to do with the day of the month in which you were born.

I know there is a "system" they use, I dont recall what it is, mom gets hers about mid month and her last name is the same, it is B day I think? Okay reading other post here, my B day is the 9th, moms is the 15, as I stated, I get mine on the 3rd unless a Sunday or holiday then the 2nd, but this time of year seems like that rule is thrown out and get it on the 2nd. Now that I think about it, just went on line to my banking and it was deposited on the 2nd this month which was a Tuesday and no Holiday on the 3rd. Are goverment efficiency???

as a matter of fact no :p I signed up for that pay to use wood shop near moms and had to do a mandatory safety class from 6-9 tonight. So just a bit burned out, just could not to it my way, sorta speak, we made a wall plack to put our names and pic on using most of the tools, I felt like I was in 7th grade shop class making a napkin holder for a picnic table with the wood top to keep them from blowing away.
Nice TS 2 saws stops, and a powermatic most else was Grizzly stuff, wet wood or a nail will do it to a saw stop. and he did it himself, recutting a draw box with a nail in it shut down the saw stop.

They have many tiered memberships, I will just post there web site, I bought 10 hour punch card for the router cabinet, and then see. For that I could rent a U haul and bring some stuff from home to moms, take the greenie, and jointer SPT and BS, roughing it though with that.

I'll be very interested to hear how you like the rent-a-shop place. Intriguing. My machinery/tooling investments to date would pay the dues there for about five years. But then again, I bought it all pretty cheap, and could turn it back into cash if I wanted to. And isn't equipping the shop half the fun? (Or maybe 90% of the fun, for certain of our upstanding members. :D )
