Is the off set on the bottom a separate piece? I've done some of that turning and I can't see how you could do that any other way but then I'm always amazed at what folks come up with.
Nice work!

Re: Ambrosia bowl
Fantastic. I haven't tried turning another bowl since I messed up the last cherry one. I was going to scrap from the bottom and that was a mistake. It blew apart. Yes, I'm scared.

Benush, The outside shape was just eyeballed until I liked it
Reible, The bottom is a separate piece that was turned on the Ruth Niles offset jig.
Swampgator, Be sure to stand out of the line of fire.
Richardrouse, No, my previous post I said that I salvaged some pen blanks from the corners from the bowl blank that was 6 X 6 X 3 inches.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments.

Very nice bowl!
I still haven't put my SS in lathe mode. So far, all my (few) projects have been pretty rectangular.

Re: Ambrosia bowl

So I've seen from so many turning posts here and elsewhere. No rush for me so far as my near future projects still have no cylindricity

Time will tell, though. Pens are starting to tug at my list now.
