Is that a chuck that you have mounted on the aux spindle? I haven't seen one before, whatever it is.

Yes it,s a four jaw adjustable chuck.

Beautiful restoration! I assume the 110v outlet was there when you bought it...I wonder what the plan was for it as it is obviously not needed to run any of the accessories; either way, nice job!

An outlet would be handy to plug a task/work light into, or a router or a drill.
I have been thinking of adding one to mine.

All of my Shopsmiths have a double outlet box bolted to the inside on the back side of the right hand leg. I replaced the head stock cords with #12 wire and cut them just long enough to plug in there with the head stock all the way to the left. The box has a 15' #12 cord that plugs into the wall outlet. So the head stock takes up one plug and the task light takes up another and I still have two left for other things and don't have extension cords all over the place.

You can see it in this picture taken when I did my Power Pro upgrade.

Actually there were four outlets.One mounted on the outside of each leg.I removed two and mounted the other two on the inside on opposite ends.I used a short cord for the head stock that plugs into one plug.Then I Wired an 8ft. cord from the other box to be used for wall plug.

Interesting, I never would have thought of doing something like that. I think I had them cut the cable for my Greenie at about 12 feet so I have plenty of room to move around.
