Hi JPG;
The motor is one and three quarter hp. The unit seems all original. I will put in the upgraded pulleys and the newly sharpened knives. I will set the knives as accurately as these old eyes will allow and give it another testing. I think the improvements and sharpened and adjusted knives will do the trick. I was glad to get this machine as they are hard to come by .
