Rieble, is that a label maker there? Or if not what is it?
Looks like a P-Touch label maker to me. I have one but it is slightly different.

I love my P Touch Label maker. Great for keeping track of pen bushings and the like. I also put a label on all my turning tools so as to remember what angle I sharpen to. Very handy. all shops should have one!

I am equally satisfied by my P-Touch PT-65 Hobby. These others do have a larger keyboard that would be nice.

OK the day is finally here. Yesterday I was out by the Plano plastics place and decided to get a box for the glue gun. Well silly me, I didn't bring it along or try it out first in another one of the boxes so it was a classic failure. Can't take points off for that.

I then got out one of my old glue guns and put some glue down and stuck some sticks in it.

This is a preliminary test that I can try a pull test and a bend test on to see what kind of hold is involved. No way to measure this but I hope that the differences are apparent.

Using the new gun and the new sticks I did the same thing.

Now I will wait for an hour to make sure the glue is back at room temperature then test to find out what I find out.

The other interesting things were how much faster the new gun heats. I did not time either of them but the new one is maybe 4 times faster....

The other thing is the new one did not drip after use. The old one does.

OK I'll be back with some non official test results in a bit.

The new glue was better but not twice as good. The bend test was really easy to bend the stick over and have the glue fail, rather expected that and the new glue did better but not all that much better. The pull off test was again as expect much harder to do and there was a greater pull needed on the new glue.

So for now I'm sold on the gun, the glue is still a wait and see. When I do some new tests I'll post them. More real world types I hope.
