Very confused how that happened.
I doubt that very much. I am more inclined to believe that the cooling fin got bent somehow.
I am curious though. Does everything seem to be working correctly if you avoid high speed operations for extended periods.
That is saw dust on the fins and not corrosion - correct?
Everything was working fine before this. What made me look at my display was I felt the rpm's cut down. When I looked they were around 4500 instead of 9000.
I have reinserted the tension screw via instructions. I have fired it up to 3450. Everything looks ok but sounds really loud(the shrouds are off though).

I talked with Anita earlier. Very nice lady and helpful. I have emailed pics of the heatsink. I'm in a holding pattern until Monday though, when the engineer comes in.
Granted it helps thee not, but does place the comparable efficiency into perspective for Rjent.
Lotta dust on that heat sink.
What was the ambient temperature(the air you were breathing) when this happened? 'The engineer' will likely ask that.
I thought that was a lot of dust too. More blowing out needed I guess.
The temp was around 85ish. SS at the end of an open 1 car garage with minimal ventilation. Had the DC collecting chips. Routing dadoes 31/64, 2 passes, 1/8" each pass.

Yeah, sawdust. Before I wiped this spot with my finger I thought it was a dimple from a screwdriver or something. Not sure what this is though.

I would call that a MINOR flaw in the extrusion process. Think galling?

Trying to track down the cause of the belt wear. I found this.

The ding in the pulley matches up with the wear in the belt. Is a new pulley in order?

85 is pretty warm when you are working at the top speeds for extended periods by my experience. I have run for over an hour doing edge routing this last winter at about 60 degrees and it never complained. FWIW.

File the ding down to the original profile and go. Any remaining 'low' spots will not hurt.

Not being there to feel that, but by the looks cant think it would be a problem for belt "wear"!!?? It would have to be slipping to cause wear and be abrasive to the belt. Like a drum sander, not something that works in unison.

I did get a call back on Wednesday. The engineer was also puzzled by the fin on the heat sink. I was told everything should be "ok". Don't route for more than 30 minutes before letting it cool. Ok.
I wanted to finish my drawer fronts this morning. 3/8" roundover. I was keeping track of the time and made it to 14 minutes before I got the warning. Getting frustrated...
I was also wondering about the Speed increaser for under-table routing. Would it work on a PowerPro?

I take it you do not have a "7".
Keep the PP speed down to saw/joint speed(max for the speed increaser). The temptation to go above that is no doubt tempting.
