You sure do seem to receive a lot of bad parts from Shopsmith. I recall at least two: multiple tables that weren't flat and not fences.

I dont know if related or how they design fences, but on LumberJocks a person had the same issue, sent 2 table saws back because the fence was a "bit" concave in the center of the length. If I remember right there answer was they are designed that way when he wanted to send the second saw back. Also if I remember right they did not give a reason, or if they did he did not post it.

Yes I did and I stopped buying from Shopsmith for about 15 years because of it. Finally got talked into the 520. Quality had changed day and night from the 510 days. At one time I bough from SS at least once a month. They lost a ton of money with the 510 junk they sent me.

Just my HOP here,companies go through changes from quality to junk, and if they still surviving and loosing market share, and also new management/ownership they regroup and want to survive and get market share back so they improve. Like I said, JMHO!
