I can only go back to what I know. I got my shopsmith new in 1976 and they had angled set screws at that time. When that started I don't know but it was at least 40 years ago.

We can debate this forever but it us to the person if they are willing to use an item or not due the set screw angle issue. I know how I feel and just want people to know about it and let them decide. For me it means I will not spend my money on an item that doesn't have the angled set screw.
