Also, the new Mark 7 machines now come with the holes predrilled in the legs for the premium casters as well as the regular casters.
Hope they got it right!
Anybody got one to measure?

I personally think that is the way to go. Factory fresh and you get to keep your MV headstock. You only save a few hundred when doing it yourself, to me the extra cost is worth it for a lot of reasons.

I couldn't agree with you more Dick. I bought the full up head stock and the double tilt package. The old head stock and bench end castings are now on my dedicated drill press. All the other parts for the DP were bought on eBay.
I bought mine in December 2012 from Dave Folkerth at a Lowe's in Salt Lake City. That was just before a price increase in 2013 and I got the Lowe's 10% Military discount and 18 months no interest by putting it on my Lowe's card. Perfect!

I talked to Lowes about the Lowes credit card option and they said it is only 6 months no interest now, not 18 months. So I used my Visa card and will get 1% cash back on my card's rewards program.
Mike Young said he does not work on Sundays anymore. There is only one other person doing the demos now. Mike said Shopsmith is hiring some more people to do demos because he and the other demonstrator are at retirement age now and won't be doing this forever.

Yes, the 6 months is all the time. They still have the 18 months over I think 999.99 but not all the time.

Shopsmith called me today and said my Power Pro was shipped today and will be delivered Thursday, exactly one week after I ordered it!

I just purchased my first SS last week (510) and am planning to upgrade to the Power Pro headstock. I have the headstock with the red power switch (C). Do you have any idea what this headstock would be worth if I sold it on Craigslist here in Portland?

Probably not much. I would keep it around so you can make a shorty ouror fix aI low dollar one with a bad headstock. Or part it out on eBay...

I turned on my new Power Pro today that I put on my Mark V 500. Wow! It is so quiet it is scary. I made a pigtail and plugged it into 240V. Just amazing! I did notice how much harder it is to slide the headstock on the way tubes. After waxing and polishing the tubes and sliding the headstock after each time it slides quite easily now. I am so glad I bought a new one instead of doing the upgrade. It is nice to have a new one where everything is done perfectly to factory specification. It is also nice how little maintenance is required compared to the old headstock.
