shop smith output shaft too big or attachments too small?

Have you measured the shaft to make sure it is actually 5/8"? That would have been the first thing I would have done if I bought this used Shopsmith and the accessory hubs (drill chuck, etc.) don't fit.

The last thing you want to do is use a hammer to put the accessories on. You can do all sorts of damage, including bending the shaft. The accessories should slide on easily without using any kind of force.

Sanded the shafts off with some emery paper and everything is working great now. I am surprised how close the tolerances are between shaft and arbor. Thanks for the help.
