In my discussion with Shopsmith they asked about the fence and the tables and from that determined that I had the 520 upgrade (I was pretty sure of this myself

I did not get the left over table and rails with it but when I dedscribed it to Shopsmith they confirmed I had a 520

And let me put in a plug for one of our pages (for future finders of this thread). Compare your picture to the ones at http://www.shopsmith.com/getting_starte ... system.htm

The page that is referenced here is great as are many other aspects of the web site. The problem is navigating to the appropriate page. The web site is not near as intuitive as it once was. There is a treasure trove of information available there, if you can find it.

Admin is to be commended on how the web site has grown and changed. Much has changed and almost all of it for the better but there is still work to do.

Work? What work? What needs to be done? As an example: parts descriptions. Set screw does not do the trick - 5/16"-18x1/4" Black Oxide Alloy Steel Flat Point Socket Set Screw does.

There was a day when parts descriptions were specific and owners were encouraged to get common hardware replacement parts 'locally'.

Special unique parts cannot be accurately described and those are reasonably vaguely described by function.

Too bad that thinking has slipped down into the common hardware descriptions where it unfortunately creates unnecessary confusion.
