Nice, but his altimeter when he got in was 30ft, just b4 wheels off the ground
it was at 60, and after landing 50ft.
Reminded of The Boy in the Bubble.

He if flying by visual flight rules and no attempt was made to get air pressure elevation sync to actual elevation from the ground. No evidence of GPS elevation either............ I started ground school but lacked the cash/time to continue but I wish I had.

Me too for a time, then said Mike, Mid West Express flys where you want to go, has gourmet meals, you can stand up in them, and has toilets.

I was at a wedding in in the mid 90s, a AWack pilot and bride out of Tinkerton AFB. many pilots at the wedding, talked to some F14 Tom Cat ones, they said the only thrill is take off and banking or vertical, other wise not pulling Gs no thrill.

Looks like the vertical tail stablizer failed which then tore off most of the tail section and then the generated stresses tore the plane apart. I did not see an explosion but rather structure failure.
Sad part is the time, effort and money that went into it was lost.

Right, structural failure, not explosion. Almost the worst part was the look on the guy's face. He was truly despondent.

Of course we can't see inside where something internal could have caused this.
