I've never turned a bowl per-say. I have turned some object very similar but they would not be called bowls. So I should take the time to do a few before I do the segmenting......

I have a ring master which would also love to try that with some segmented wood and then turn the results that way. Just not enough time in a day for all the things I'd like to do.

The next part of this project is making a stomper. To that end I have picked up a few of the parts needed. In case you are not following this story you might want to check out this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS6TnFWVXVk

The portion on the building of the stomper starts about 10:58 in if you want to skip to that.

The PVC and end cap were easy to find at the hardware store. The 12" pop up sprinkler well my Home Depot didn't sell enough of them and no longer carries them. I didn't try on line but I did go to Amazon to find the PVC table cap so I also check for the sprinkler..... they had them both. In case you are so inclined the sprinkler can be found here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H ... UTF8&psc=1

A little more then the video said they sold for at Home Depot, $10.48. The table caps are cheap but you need to buy them in a package of 10 to get the prime shipping...... You can find them here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MN ... UTF8&psc=1

That will set you back $10.73. I'll have spares in case someone wants some, by the time you pay the postage it might be a toss up if "free" is worth it.

The pop up arrived today and I have taken it apart to get the needed parts. I should have the other parts tomorrow and with any luck I might get to work on it Sunday. Granddaughters B-day tomorrow so unless the parts arrive early I will not have time to put it together.....

BTW we will not be seeing me making a bigger hole in my MFT. Not sure what I will do for mounting but that is not an option I want to go to.

The other issue might be my PVC cement, having it is one thing but it has been a few years since I used it so it may have passed its shelf life. No idea how this new two part stuff holds up to time.

I'll post a few pictures here but the presenter did a great job of the how to so I don't see a need to redo it here.

The package arrived early so I went ahead and put it together. I did make just a couple of changes. If you decide you want to make one yourself take note other wise there is not much general content.

First the more I though about it the less I like the idea of gluing the two ends on and "sealing" it up. So I went ahead and made the bottom removable. I did this with three screws. They were a bit longer then I wanted so I added some washers.

If you go this way it might be a good idea to mark a location so you can get it back together with the correct hole alignment or do some other magic to insure the holes are going to line up in any of the three possible locations.

The next issue I found was with the washer thing on the bottom. In just playing with it it come out of position several times. There is nothing holding it in location so why wouldn't move around?? I went with a 0-ring. If that doesn't work I can take it back apart and glue it or something. Anyway here is a picture of the part and the blue o-ring.

Next I found the top alignment washer thing was not going to fit down in the tube. I tried several times and it just didn't want to go. Here is a picture of it sitting on a cut off end of the PVC pipe.

I really think it needs to fit inside the PVC. I ended up using a 1-7/16 bit and drilling down about 3/16" into the pipe end. That did it. It now fits in and stays.

OK that part of the project is done. Now I have to clean up, put stuff away and shower so I can go to a birthday party.....
