I am at a loss to understand why someone willing to buy a Mark V would shy away from this unit? I am totally done buying SS's (after buying 25 of them ) but if I were not and wanted one I would buy this one in a heart-beat (being sure it ran OK)...

It IS a front table extension.

There are two versions. Greenie and early Goldie that have a cast in rip fence rail. Late Goldies and all Mark 5 and Mark V 500 that have an extruded aluminum rail. FWIW the early version fits the narrow accessory table with the cast in rail.

I'm having trouble making out what the item is at the bottom of picture 2 between the wooden miter gauge extension and the sanding disk?

Those table inserts are of a fair value as are those face-plates.

Also, many used Mark V's out there do not have the caster set and they tend to sell a little high on E-bay etc.

On the other hand, if you only have one SS you only really need one drill chuck and any basic lathe chisel set will work and they usually sell pretty reasonable. If you get serious about turning you will probably want to buy a few more "special" turning chisels of higher quality anyway.

The item on the floor is the deflector that goes inside the vacuum outlet housing that is above it setting on the saw blade. The vac housing is likely still on the missing Mark VII headstock or simply not with us any more.

I might be interested in acquiring the housing if in good condition.
