What good will that do.There is no reason for me to trust that they will do that any better than they update their web site. I just checked status and it reportedly has not changed since 2:00PM yesterday. If that package has not yet left Fountain Valley, it just might be next Friday before I receive it.

Really! Google map says that it is a 7 1/2 hour drive from Fountain Valley to Tucson and it takes 7 days.

Remember that the package may not go by direct route. I sent a package to my mother in law in Montana, from Iowa it went through both Phoenix and Las Vegas before it got to Montana.

As others have said above, the seller can print a label with a tracking number from their home or anywhere and immediately send it to you. Until the shipper actually picks up the package and scans the tracking number it is not in their system so doesn't show. It is not only the USPS but FedEx and UPS also.

The USPS used to be terrible with tracking. Most of the time I would get packages before the tracking number had any information on their web site. It has gotten WHOLE a lot better over the years.

Well the package is not being driven by a personal driver directly from the seller to your house.

Chill Dusty, it aint Christmas yet, it will be there for you to open! :) You could have it maybe for St Nicks in a few days!! ;)
Hell why on Marine bases they have in the parade grounds, foot steps in a zig zag to the latrine? "Gunny I got to go" he has to follow the indirect foot prints, instead of the shortest distance, which is a straight line.

That is all obvious, John. The status was "Shipping Label Created USPS Awaiting Item".The item has not yet moved at that time.

Now it has. It has gone all the way (96miles) to City of Industry. Now there is a chance that it has left the City of Industry and the status simply has not been updated but 96 miles in 26 hrs via Interstate. Only 500 miles to go. Next Friday looks like a valid estimate.

Did it 'arrive / leave' Fountain City PO in between?

Looking at tracking detail, I have come to realize that the package was available for pickup by the postal service for just a few minutes over 24 hours. If I had to draw any conclusin from that, I would say that the seller (in Fountain Valley) just missed the USPS pickup for that day.

This means that it took only 1 hour and 20 minutes to go from Fountain Valley to City of Industry.

Bad timing - not bad service.

I don't know what is BAD. Tracking this package is almost comical.

It initiated in Fountain Valley and from there it went north to City of Industry where it waited for almost an entire day for a carrier to take it back south to Long Beach.

I almost expect it to now go north to Los Angeles where it can be put on a truck that will take it west (through the City of Industry) and on to Tucson via I10.
