That is a great project, well thought out, and the memories will last them a lifetime! I know some college kids who would appreciate the stairs, and the storage as well for their bunk / desk combo.

Super first project! You've built a great and truly long lasting family bed. Not to worry about the bed lasting for several generations. It already has!!!!

Very nice! I built bunk beds for my sons back in the 80’s. They are now being used by my granddaughters after being in storage for the last 30 years or so. I never built the guard rail, so I’m doing that now. The plans are from Woodsmith #38.

Those are great looking and it's pretty wonderful that another generation is getting to use them!
