Next month will be time for me to file Federal taxes. Will continue like Ed to use TurboTax through my local credit union started by federal workers and maintained for us. TurboTax is set up so that it is a direct deposit. However, this year there will be no refund as I had more taken out in the event someone who is immoral wants to file for me and claim my refund. So, I invested the extra into the Christmas Club at the credit union. It paid out in November and I saved enough to pay the difference. My 1099's won't be here until the end of January or the beginning of February. When it warms again, I will be turning as I have more new screws. And, thankfully, Florida does not have a state income tax, but they sure get you on property taxes.

Mine are done but cannot be submitted. I have yet to receive 1099s, etc. I have a tax bill but I expect that because I do not report everything in real time. The good news is that the taxes due are less than last years.

It has been said on the news that times are getting better for the average American family but I always thought that when times got better there was to be more available to spend. I actually made less money this year than in any of the last eight years. Go figure?

Same here. The forms are ready to go when I get the 1099s. They aren't required to get them out before Feb 1, so they won't. So, we wait. But, I owe the IRS this year and they get to wait for their check.

We pay our taxes (property and income) monthly into a savings account that SWMBO will not touch. When the tax bill actually solidifies, she will pay them immediately. I don't even think about them anymore. My job is COMPLETE as soon as the tax program is on the computer. This year I entered all the numbers; I just could not wait until I was able to see what this Administration had done to me this year. Actually, not bad.

Ditto.
Same here. Last year I paid nothing to TurboTax, and
will do the same this year.

Even saved the price of a stamp.

Got started today but I'm missing a lot of information still. Did what I could and saved it and now have to wait for the mail to see what comes that I can add on.

BTW I use the "Free File Fillable Forms" located here:

I'm still missing one of the 1099s, and my bank says I can't get it until Feb 1, so I wait until then.
