That's a fantastic deal! It has the mark mount thickness planer ($1300 new), scroll saw (they mislabel it as a jig saw), belt sander, and bandsaw as well as the dust collection system in addition to the mark V. If the OP is in the area that seems like a winner if the deal is still available.

To the OP, The only major specialty tool that seems to be lacking is the the Jointer, and those can often be found used on ebay for a couple hundred bucks if you want to add one later (if you're patient you can find one in good condition)

Troy and Andrea, welcome to the forum! You will find a wealth of information here. I got my first Shopsmith about a month ago and am having a great time learning to use it.

I live in the vicinity of Ada, OK. It is a little drive for you, but you are welcome to come by and see my setup. I have a Model 510 and a bandsaw. Admittedly, I am very new to the Shopsmith, but I've learned a good bit so far and am happy to let you see what it can do. If you are interested, just send me a message.

You indicated that you may go to the upcoming demo in Tulsa. I'm sure you are aware, but there is also going to be a demo in Oklahoma City this week (Feb 23-25).

Now that I'm on a real keyboard instead of a tablet, it is much easier to 'talk'.

I'm in Moore, will gladly show you what I have and give you some demos on a warm and dry weekend day.

It is hard to tell for certain whether the Shopsmith in the Craigslist ad is a 505 or 510, the difference being the inclusion of two floating tables and tubes. I don't see the floating tables, but do see some tubes hidden behind the planer, so wouldn't be surprised if this is a 510; even if not, tables can be picked up on ebay relatively inexpensively. The real value is in the special purpose tools (SPTs); if you price each of them even low, you have a bargain: $400 planer (assuming it doesn't need any major repairs), $250 DC3300, $200 band saw, $200 scroll saw, the 505/510 is essentially free.

I would highly recommend pursuing a 505, 510, 520, or Mark 7. From my observation over several years, you'd be extremely lucky finding a 520 around here let alone at a good price. The 505/510 can be upgraded to a 520 configuration relatively inexpensively, probably a bit over $600 shipped and/or upgraded to the double-tilt like the Mark 7 has for ~$450 shipped. Additionally, any Mark V headstock can be upgraded to a PowerPro. This upgradability allows a person to relatively inexpensively improve their machine as budget allows and needs dictate.

I think you are correct that it is a 505! I believe the lathe chisel shadows are misleading us to think they are tubes.

Before I bought this one ,,,,,I watched a lot of videos on youtube ,,,, I didn't think the issue of constantly adjusting the table for the depth of cut would be a issue , most the time it isn't.

The versatility of the machine compensates for any additional time setting up out feeds ,

For some one who doesn't do this to pound out a dime it has been great.
