Here is one I made up years age for doing bowl faces that uses two standard tool rests.

I'd like to see how people use these tool rests. I can't for the life of me see a reason for them but they are out there so there must be a reason, so please educate me.

I'm not asking about the Carter system, I understand that.

The reason I built that one was I needed a stable rest to do a large flat surface on the bottom of a bowl. At the time I did not have the SS steady rest and was not satisfied with the results I was getting from the standard tool rest. Now that I have one I don't use it much.
