Goo Gone does a great job on glued-on labels.

Regarding the boxes themselves, I have about ten of them I bought at Lowe's. I am not entirely happy with them...I've noticed the following shortcomings:

1. There's a gap between the lid and the tops of the bins. This allows small things to migrate from one bin to another, especially if the boxes are stored on edge.

2. If any parts stick above the bin edge, the box lid won't close...which is obvious, but it seems that parts are ALWAYS sticking up.

3. Storing Too Much Stuff can cause the lid to bow, which increases the gap, which leads to more parts migrating...

4. A lot of the bins are too small...you can't get a large number of parts into them.

I've modified and merged a couple of bin generators for 3D printing that addresses at least one of the problems you mentioned, the small bins. I can generate any combination of width and/or length size bins that I can 3D print for the Harbor Freight (both heights) and Stanley (two heights). I can, if desired, print dividers in the bins in either or both directions. I've printed a few over length to hold certain tools, long then divided so as to get the equivalent of 1.5 bins for a little extra space than the smallest bins.

I've just about nailed down the height to match the HF bins, within a millimeter of matching, still need to add an optional parameter for printing a little extra, or less, height to allow fine tuning to get them at just the right height so a properly closed case just barely touches the case to help reduce the likelihood of small parts spilling when the case is vertical.

I also want to adjust the floor and wall thicknesses as the larger printed bins have more flex than I'd like, but the small ones work well enough.

Definitely not something that I'd want to print to replace every single bin I have, but really nice for those occasional one-offs for something special. And, of course, a person would need a 3D printer in order to print 'em.

FWIW you might try some of this stuff. It has removed ANYTHING stuck on most anything else for me.
The packaging says it will work on labels.

Just finished my review over at the Harbor Freight site. Have to see if they make it public.

Again the easy solution is the just get the 93928 version of these. The other ones are not worth my efforts.
