Jointer fence twisted

A flatness tolerance of 0.0015" for a fence this small is absurd! I jointed a piece of solid stock that is supposed to attach to another panel. That piece of solid stock is joined to a plywood panel that's 4' wide. A degree off on that one little piece of solid mahogany turns into ~an inch off on the other side of that panel!

You have one to many zeros there. Dennis said 15 thou not a thou and a half.

I would agree with the shim method. Not that difficult to make an auxiliary fence which also makes it a much better jointer anyway. Shimming it should be fairly straight forward. As far as bending it back those fences are fairly malleable. Mine got bent once a long time ago when a friend decided to remove the jointer by lifting it using the fence and it bent back into position with not too much effort. I was afraid it was going to crack it but it held up.

0.015 over 4" becomes 0.180 at 4'.

Nothing compared to a 4x4 deviation!

Based on the poor fit with my panel and some other pieces, my fence is twisted quite a bit more than 0.015.

No response from SS to my inquiry thus far.
