A few years ago I had 2 coupler ends split. Since then I have wrapped the ends with a couple of turns of electrical tape. No more split ends. I have not had a problem orienting the couplers. Art Sale

I cracked one a few years ago by twisting and wiggling it to get it off of the hub. I too wrapped it with a piece of tape. It is still in the shop on a machine. I now have two new spares in the tool box that I may never need.
