Sketchup 2017 runs quite smoothly on my early 2013 MacBook Pro. I also run it on Win 10 on a home built PC running an Intel Xeon server processor circa 2010, Nehalem 5500 series 6C / 12T processor.

Windows 10 runs well for me on my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 as well. So far (Pro 3 is three weeks out of the box), the only issue that I have is that the stylus does not function normally
with Sketchup. Using a wireless keyboard and mouse - all works well.
Except for my frequent excursions on the learning curve.

I got up early this morning and have consumed all my coffee while "playing with" the Surface Pro 3 Stylus.
I am almost convinced that the stylus (if used correctly) will resolve the Sketchup related issues that I am experiencing. My stylus has three buttons and they work in conjunction with the tablet. This device might warrant a semester class to learn how to use it.
Who'd a thunk?

So much for intuitively obvious designing!
Seems that old kiss philosophy is now passe.

Actually being intuitive is probably more common today than ever before. The problem is devices such as the Surface Pro are capable of many many different things. The surface has so many options like, touch screen, detachable keyboard, screen keyboard and pen program and app writers have to rethink their programs to cover all options. Some customers want to use just the keyboard, some just the touch screen and still others the pen. Other customers want to use a subset of two or more of these options. Making everything intuitive with all those options is nearly impossible on the first pass to make the program workable. As users, designers and programmers get in step with each other much of these type problems will be worked out.

Lest we wonder too far from the original subject, I have learned that the latest version of Windows 10 is version 1703 which I have now loaded on my tablet.
We then changed tracks just a little to discuss Sketchup and Surface Pro 3 compatibility when used without a mouse.
The styllus is much more of a challenge than it seems it should be. If you are not using a styllus with Windows 10 and the MS Surface Pro 3, you probably do not have the same issue. I was just hoping for a quick and simple solution.

Excuses, excuses, excuses
Wishful Thinking!
Different input devices - each should be intuitively obvious. The program should not care where the input comes from and be able to have them all co-exist.
Just My Jaded Opinion.

Oh but this may have already happened and I am the one not yet in step.
The Tablet with Windows 10 and Sketchup (and Office 365) all work very well together. The fact that I have yet to learn how to use the styllus with Sketchup may well not be a design issue.

And before anyone gets their panties in a wrinkle, I was making a joke ....
