Yes. Sometimes I too don't make the word connection especially when it is a regional colloquialism I seldom hear used.
As a writer and poet I am drawn to word expressions in prose. I never really enjoyed demeaning jokes, racial or offensive jokes growing up as a kid, yet in this age of political correctness I understand that even the humor expressed between close friends can be and likely is misinterpreted by third parties not part of the conversation.
Puns were always a part of my life, and remain to this day.
There is so much real tragedy and difficulties in life we all face or who have family and friends facing, that humor that can give us just a brief chuckle, is beneficial to our well being I think.
I find that I laugh at myself more than ever these days. I hope I can bring a smile to others somewhere along the way in my journey through this wonderful thing we share called life.
