We had snow here above 6000 feet about 3 weeks ago. None down here at the house (4218'). This morning there was more light snow almost down to our elevation. It was down to 29 degrees this morning and only got to 44 today. Clear as a bell so it should be in the mid 20's in the morning.

It hit 88 here in my part of Central Indiana today... There is a fair chance that the heat pump will kick on before morning.
In the past I have sometimes harvested crops in the snow in October and some years no flakes fell before mid December. We never know what to expect.
I personally think that April 1 would make a good first snow date and also a last snow of the year date. Why, yes, I do dislike snow...
We are actually pretty well equipped to deal with it. I just don't want to. I have not had to for a number of years, our son Scott (mid 40's, lives about 900' away at the north end of the farm) usually drops by before he goes to work to clear the drive and sidewalk. Also one daughter and her husband operate a contracting business and they live just 400' to the south in our old house. He keeps a backhoe loader and a large Bobcat in his barn. I have several tractor blades and I even have a blade that came from a county highway truck but I no longer have a 100 HP class tractor to operate it with. We sold them when I retired from grain farming. I do still have a 55 HP loader tractor but have not used it on snow in years.
My old F-150 is only 2 wheel drive but I do keep very good traction tires on it. I have a decent Silverado 4 x 4 but it is in line waiting for me to swap out the transmission. Not a huge job but just too much stuff in line ahead of it. I also have new tires on both of our old Chrysler T&C's and they are amazing in mud and snow for a 2 wheel drive vehicle. If snows get too bad I'm prepared to hibernate...

I use to enjoy this time of year driving coast to coast, go from snow to temps in the 70's in less than a day.

Also reminds me ,, I need to seal a door .

Just looked at the weather forecast. The overnight low is supposed to be 19 degrees.

Nice thing about Tucson, if you really want snow, its less than an hour away.

I've done my time in snow country. As long as I have a choice there will be NO MORE SNOW in my future. However, I am getting a bit worn by the hot weather here. Fortunately, that is about over for this year.

Gene, should have picked a different town.

Here in Mesa, not so much.

Last time I saw snow, it was in a picture.
(Or my freezer that needs defrosting.)

Steve, if a little snow and some cold weather is the worse, then I'm happy. Just wish I didn't have to drive so far for hardwood. But, we're about to be blessed with another grandchild and, the parents are in Tucson. So, that means we'll get down there more often.
