Just tossing this out there for thought... HDPE. I was going to get a couple of sheets of this, one 1/4" and the other 1/2" for making jigs and fixtures. A local farm store (Orscheln) carried it but they badly managed themselves out of business. The chain is still in business in other locations. I don't know if they still sell it or not, I need to find out. I also never tried checking to see if the thickness was exact. I'm posting a link to a page with information and prices but I noticed that these prices are almost double what the farm store was selling them for when I was looking at it.
Farmers use a good bit of this stuff for sliding surfaces because mud etc. does not stick to it. Water will never affect it. It is also used in food processing areas. I had (still have) a small piece about a foot square and about 9/16" thick that I used for probably 16 years in the shoe repair shop as a self healing cutting surface when using an Exacto-knife. https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item. ... emid=23869
