Have patience, Steelcraft, we are trying to help you. You did not say that you had the quill out... Many new members have jumped to conclusions about the quill being bent. Some were right, some wrong. If you are really sure the quill is bent, just get another one. As far as parts go, really not that expensive. I for one would only buy a used one from a trusted seller. In fact, there are several very good lathes from Jet, Nova and Laguna with standard 1-1/4" x 8 spindles along with greater capacity, weight and bearings than a Shopsmith for about $1,800 to $2,500.
