What a Nice Thread! Real eye-candy!

Pardon me if I missed it stated above, but was there any special restoration technique for the table-height and quill-extension levers (the red-knobbed metal rods)? Seems like a lot of machines show metal finish wear there prior to anywhere else.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Dave, Today, as I reviewed your pictures of this great restoration job, I reminded myself of something that I wanted to ask you last August but had forgotten where I saw it. I see that you mounted a second main table to your extension table mount. I would appreciate it if you could describe how you mounted it (or show some pics) and provided for alignment of the miter slots and fence bar. I have thought about doing the same thing for a long time, but never tried yet. Maybe you have already answered this question but I dont't remember. Thanks, John McCrossen

JOHN! Did you notice NO trunion on 'extra table'? Bill Mayo has done this by cutting/rewelding trunion.

Notice two table versions!

I have a ? for you Dave: Why haven't you changed the table insert to a solid one on your Auxillary main table?

Dave, Many, many thanks for your excellent reply and pictures. I really appreciate your sharing. I've been using an extra table and carriage on the left side of the headstock which works really well, but have always thought about how nice it would be to have the extra width and miter slots on the extension table end. Thanks again, John McCrossen
