Chuck, it's not just motor home tires. All tires have a shelf life. I didn't realize this until I saw an article about it recently.

Service life is shortened significantly for vehicles left idle for extended periods of time and especially for those left out in the sun and/or stored in extreme dry climates.

I keep covers on my tires here in Arizona but that only helps. It does not solve the problem.

I suspect that when I put my RV back on the road I will have to put new tires on all around. With my knees being bad for so long, the RV was used very little over the last three-four years. Probably no more an a couple hundred miles on a "brand new rig". We'll take a few short trips to checkout the rig but like I said - I almost expect to have to replace tires due to checking and dry rot.

Who would have ever thought that tires would go bad due to bad knees.
