You would be correct, I did not read everyone's signatures. I will be more diligent in the future.

As Brenda suggested I hope you found and read the guide to Buying a Used Shopsmith. Even if there are some problems with the Mark V and/or the SPT's (Special Purpose Tools) they can be fixed. The following is an example of what can be done to restore them. Almost a year and a half ago I picked up a Mark 5 Greenie, with a Jointer and Jig Saw. They looked like basket cases, but they were free so you would think it is a good deal. With a bit of work, shopping around for the best deal on parts and about $650 in parts, materials & paint they look and run like new again. That cost includes getting all the parts and accessories it originally came with.

Before (picture from the ad) Sorry, does not show the Jointer or Jig Saw After (5 months later) The Jointer and Jig Saw tables were covered in rust, fortunately not pitted. The Mark 5's Quill was rusted, the Quill return Spring broken along with damaged Carriage Pinion Gears and damaged Trunnion on the table which all had to be replaced. There were other parts that needed repair or replacement on the three tools.

Well, it's all home now...

I definitely have a lot of learning to do!

I am curious about some of the items, owner was unsure of some of the items. They were his father's, and his father passed away several years ago, and he just was cleaning out the shop/storage. If you know what some of these items are our their usage, please feel free to chime in.

Duplicator, lathe rest, lathe shield, upgraded rip fence, clamps, mortiser clamp (maybe? ) various table small extensions/jigs...

Nice!!I will add once you get going I like the 510 upgrade on the table and fence and carriage , I also kept the original table and fence , allowing me the use of my original mortise hold down and by adding the second carriage opposite the head stock allowed me the luxury of a large work area ,,adjusting that fence for a stop block when I set the unit up for he power miter box that is clamped to one of the tables . you will find many uses for you SS.

Duplicator incomplete(look for long aluminum extrusion), angle iron with strange hardware(needs to be a pair).

That is a mortising 'hold down'.

Lathe shield? Not in pix - may be part of duplicator.

Small table in upper center is not SS.
