It will be close. My 3/21/89 bandsaw has the cast iron table.

Yup, it's a cast iron table and my table is aluminum. What are the ramnifications of this?

One will rust and the other one won't.

In all seriousness, the bandsaw with the cast iron table will fit your Mark V just fine. Any other worries?

Other than not being able to use the SS fence, I guess not. Don't know how big a deal that is. Maybe holding out for a earlier model would be a better purchase?

At the risk of repeating myself, since this bandsaw does have a cast iron table, you simply need to decide 1) do I want a cast iron table? 2) if no, do I want to either live with it or upgrade 3) am I going to wait for a later model bandsaw with an aluminum table.
Life is one great big, continuous series of decisions.

It looks like you can upgrade just the table from Shopsmith.

Sorry I was so cryptic. Had only a moment to alert that iron table has some differences. Only significant because accessories aren't just bolt on in some cases.mike

So where is the serial number located?
