This is a diagram of the teal scroll saw parts.chapmanruss wrote:Although not it's original gray color the picture JPG posted is the part # 514982 called Cradle and is # 87 in the diagram I have for the older gray Scroll Saw. The part for the teal Scroll Saw is # 518102 is called Scroll Saw Rear Cradle and is also # 87 on it's drawing (online service parts). The parts look different in the drawings even though they are for the same purpose on the older gray and newer teal Scroll Saws. Sorry I have only had two of the older Mark Mount gray Scroll Saw (still have one), never had a teal one. Since they do the same function the teal one may work on the gray one. It will cost you the price of the part ($4.12) plus shipping to find out if you wish to try. A call to the service department may help answer that question. Good Luck
It would appear that the new table does not have the curved flange that rests on the cradle but instead has a pin (66,67) that turns in a stamped steel bracket (87). A redesign that simplifies the table casting and eliminates the cradle casting. The new part would require modification of the old table to work, much easier just to make a replacement.
Note, the person who needs the part, not Tom, first posted about it back in May on the Facebook Shopsmith Owners Group. At that time I removed mine and made tracings of all the faces with dimensions and sent them to him with pictures of the part and also a sketch of how to make a simplified version from aluminum plate and wood. Maybe an hour to make. This week he posted on the Facebook group again, I think he hopes someone will make it for him so he won't have to do it himself.
