I would love to have as much time as I had when I was working full time. I guess that it might have something to do with the fact that most 20 minute jobs now manage to take 2 days...
Much of that lost time is spent looking for the tool that I just laid down...

Well done brother! Retirement is magical. It took me a year to find solace in the idea of no customers, no meetings, NO EMPLOYEES, no public responsibilities.
Enjoy it! There is nothing that people can say to explain it!

I have to agree with you Dick.
I spent 24 years in the USAF in the munitions (flight line) career field. If they called me back today I would go. After that I spent 16 years working for DOD, primarily the AF as a civilian. It was mostly in aircraft maintenance. I would do that again also.
I have been retired from active duty for 22 years. I still miss it. I have been retired from civil service for 12 years and I miss that also.

Congratulations on your retirement. I am insanely jealous!!! I have 41 years in my family business and am trying to figure an exit date! Turning 60 this November, which still seems too young! Maybe cut down to a 40 hour week!

Congratulations! Hope you will have a nice retirement time and will figure out what to do with all this time you’ve got without work:)
I think that I will need to go soon, too, because my health is not the best, and I think I need to spend some time with my grandkids before I pass away.
I have enough retirement savings and can afford to travel to the US and Europe. I really want to visit Italy and the Uffizi Gallery in particular. My great grandfather was there once, and he told me that it was a wonderful place when I was a kid. Since then, visiting this place has been one of my life goals.
