Now I know who got this great find. I am envious but glad you are going to share it with all of us. Thank you for that. You mentioned it has manuals in it. Are any of them manuals not on the list of known Mark 5 manuals below?

Gaps in the list above are for editions believed to be missing from this list. At a minimum there is 1 missing manual per gap. There may be additional Manuals not accounted for including a Magna American manual.

Newer editions of the manuals were mostly a result of changes to parts on the machine. Most of the setup and operation information, including the pictures, remained the same through the first Shopsmith Inc. manual. With the Magna Power Tool Corporation Manual Copyright 1957 Cat. No. EM 9100-B 4:57 the Parts lists with Drawings and accessories lists were no longer included in the manual but came separate. The manuals no longer required new editions because of part changes. Known Spare Parts Lists are included above.

Everett is working on restoring a copy of each of the early Mark 5 manuals so anyone can get a copy that best covers the parts in their Mark 5.

Yes, it was me that snagged this manual off Ebay. The seller had about $10 opening bid or Make Offer. When I bid the Make Offer went away of course. Then I made an offer. After one day of no more bids he accepted my offer.
The Mark 5 Manual that came with it is version 8. The other manuals are Jigsaw, belt sander, etc. The sprayer manual is quite interesting. I never knew they sold a sprayer under the Magna line.
After each manual there is one loose page pertaining to that manual. Below is the page for the Mark 5 manual. Not sure if it is something you need or not. Catalog No. 9117-3:56.
There are many loose pages in the manuals section that do not go to any manual. There may be something in those pages you are looking for. I will let you know.

That explains why it disappeared before the end of the auction. I would have been bidding against you at the end of the auction if it had gone to that point.

Everett may want to add the Additional Horizontal Adjustments to the collection at some point. I'm sure you find a lot of information in there that others would find useful or just want to have.

Almost done scanning the Manuals section. Looking through the rest of the pages I ran across a Service Center page. I looked up Power Service Center in Portland. Long gone. Wonder if any Service Center that's on list still exists.
I have 40 or 50 pages left to scan. As soon as I am done I will get the files to Everett for upload.

I am sure none of these service centers still exist since these were back in the 1950's. It has been well over a decade, probably closer to 2, since the last Oregon Shopsmith retail store closed in Tigard. My Mark V 520 Date Code 11-13-01 was purchased through there. That is when Shopsmith Inc. went mail-order only. Even Battels True Value Hardware in Whittier CA was said to be closing. There was a post here on the forum. Their web page is still up but their phone number is no longer in service. They were a long time parts supplier, repairer and seller of Shopsmiths. They were the only store I know of besides Montgomery Ward stores to sell the Mark 2 according to some old advertising I have seen.

Are you talking the last Oregon Shopsmith retail store as Woodcraft? I remember they use to sell Shopsmith stuff. Sadly no more.

Supposedly that has changed recently, but only Lowes demos have been visible.

I have not seen any lately but I went to two demos in the Salt Lake Woodcraft after the announcement was first made. How long ago was that? I wonder what has happened.

Another interesting page from the Service section. It is a 4 page brochure with 10 repair centers in Canada at the end. It seems that some of them might still be in business. I looked up a couple in the Portland Eugene area with no luck. I will post the other 3 pages if there is any interest.
The interesting part is some will repair an A.O. Smith Motor and some will repair a Franklin motor. And some will repair both.
My question is when did Shopsmith start using the Franklin Motor. And when did they quit using the A.O. Smith.

I scan everything in a 350 DPI Tif. I touch them up as I go. Some are not fixable. But I do the best I can. Almost all the pages have chipping on one edge. They are easy to fix.
Question- when I convert the files to a jpg what size should I make them.
There are 7 chapters to this book separated by tabs. Index, Policies, Prices, Selling Aids, Advertising, Manuals and Service (repair). I just finished scanning the Selling Aids section. The manuals section is huge. I realize most of the manuals have already been scanned and uploaded. But to make this complete I will scan them anyway.
It has been a lot of fun scanning so far. Here are a couple more pages for everyone's enjoyment.

And the training films. According to the page below there are 7 twenty minute films in 8mm format. Where are those films now.
