OK, here is the next thing on this score. As some of you might remember back in 2011 I bought a copy of PTWFE from Skip Campbel that was in the library of Hans Goldschmidt. There was also another copy in the library that was signed by the author. It was not for sale at the time but I told Skip if he ever wnted to sell it I would like the first opportunity to buy it. So now I have it. Both copies of PTWFE owned by Hans Goldschmidt the inventor of the Shopsmith machine. The signed copy will be preserved in a shadow box just like the other copy.
More to follow.

You have greatly increased your obligation to preserve both of them.
I cannot think of a better person to take on that responsibility.

They will be preserved as long as I am alive. After that who knows. My wife will certainly do something in that regard. I would donate them to Shopsmith if they are willing to preserve the history but I am not sure they would be interested.

I have not posted the second (third) part of what I got from Skip (another book) but I will. However, many of you maybe briefly saw another 10ER lower motor belt guard on eBay. It has now arrived here. The one from Skip is original old stock and has never been installed. I want to keep it that way. All of a sudden another one appeared on eBay last week with a "Buy it now" price less than the one from Skip that I bid on. I wanted one that I felt comfortable installing on one of my machines so there was no hesitation.
I have only ever seen one of those guards years ago and now 2 within a month.

I saw the second one about an hour after it ended unfortunately. Maybe two listings for it in a week will draw another one out of the woodwork.

John,
I like your shadow box design and want to do a similar one for my copy of PTWFE that DeCristoforo wrote in and signed for Margaret Rouch from Magna. A project I still haven't gotten to.
Now John, two lower belt covers. If I get a second lower blade guard we may have to talk.

Thank you. One little design element that is not obvious is the bottom book support. It has grooves in it for the hard cover so the pages are supported and won't sag over time. That is the piece in the front right in the picture.

Thanks for the tip John. That's an excellent idea and I will include that.
