Re: YIKES!!
I don't really watch the price of gas because I don't use a lot of it. Last time I filled, gas was around $3 a gallon here. I could buy corn syrup for $2.60 or $2.70, but I want G100, not E10 corn syrup because I get poorer mileage on corn syrup.
Re: YIKES!!
Gas here is currently CDN$1.429 per litre, Earlier this spring it was up to CDN$1.649. I am a courier and drive a 3/4 ton van. 30 litres a day.

Dusty enjoys the lowest gas prices in AZ. $2.34 at Costco in Tucson. Unfortunately, we're 5 hr.s north. $$2.84 up here. But, our Fusion hybrid gets around 45 mpg and we don't need to drive often.

Re: YIKES!!
$2.18/gal yesterday. Wish it had been this price back when I was driving 300-400 miles every week. Now, since we finished moving into the new spread, the car leaves the drive way two maybe three times a week to drive 6 miles to the base where we do almost all of our shopping.

How do those knot heads plan to measure thy mileage?moggymatt wrote:Out here in WA there thinking of taxing by the mile. Lucky me, I'm 20+ miles from work, out in the country, as far away from the knot heads thinking up these screwy ways to get more of my money as I can.

They plan to use a GPS to monitor where the cars go and how far they go.

WTH is going to monitor all those GPS and how cost effective will that be? And who will pay for them and the real time data transmittal to the monitors?garys wrote:They plan to use a GPS to monitor where the cars go and how far they go.

Re: YIKES!!
I remember in 1972 living in Ohio I bought truck gas for 19 cents a gallon.
In Ohio truck gas was sold only to trucks and was about 6 cents a gallon cheaper than car gas because of per gallon road tax. Never imagined that gas would one day cost what it does.
I have a friend that just got back from Italy he was paying just under $10 a gallon.

With the later model vehicles this information is possibly available and can certainly be made available with future model vehicles. The on board computers collect an impressive amount of information.garys wrote:They plan to use a GPS to monitor where the cars go and how far they go.
Only loosely related: my cell phone can locate my hearing aids.
