Farmer said "Careful hand washing is constant along with hand sanitizer away from home. Gas is pumped with a disposable glove for the hand that holds the nozzle and pushes buttons.
I should mention that my stash of gloves and masks are from the wood shop, not medical grade and have been open packages for several years. Maybe by the time I run out the supplies will be back on the shelves."
Pretty much describes our routine , too. We carry spray bottles of DNA, along with Harbor Freights's 7 mil gloves from the shop and, a roll of blue shop towels. Not only the gas pump handle but, also the CC receptacle gets sprayed and wiped. Of course the gloves are on, too.
We haven't needed groceries for over a week. When we last went to the store, the grocery cart got the gas pump treatment. Haven't tried the online order and pickup in the lot, yet.
UPS/FedEx deliveries stay on the porch, in the sun, for a day before we touch them.

I'm not worried about gas pumps. If we stay home, we don't burn gas and don't have to fuel up.
We haven't left home for over 3 weeks now and don't plan to do so in the near future. We have groceries delivered here once every two weeks, and most other trips for other things just don't need to happen at all.
If the weather here ever warms up and the snow, I will get back to Spring yard cleanup. That doesn't require leaving home.
We have been doing a lot of grilling steaks, hamburgers, and sausages. It supplies a good meal, and helps consume the meat in the freezers.
The good things about all this are.
1. Not having to deal with the cell phone idiots on the road.
2. Scam phone calls have almost totally stopped.
3. I can turn on my TV and not find half the channels cluttered with ball games.
4. We have the best reason yet to avoid crowds.

I had to go the the grocery store the other morning, and for the first time I wore a 3M N95 mask (white paper) from my workshop. I only have seven of them on hand, and four family members currently living at home, so reusing them is probably gonna be necessary.
When I got back home, I test-sprayed a small spot on the used mask with DNA. There was no obvious harm to the mask, so I proceeded to spray the entire mask until saturated, and then left it to dry. A few hours later, the mask was dry, and it still looked brand new. So that appears to be an effective way to disinfect them.
FWIW, Battelle Columbus Laboratories just developed a system for mass-disinfecting PPE for hospital use. They use vapor-phase hydrogen peroxide, and each machine can disinfect up to 80,000 masks per day. They expect that each mask can be used up to 20 times. Several machines have already been deployed in Ohio, New York, and Washington state.

Not too many of the scammers are brave enough to sit in their little cubicle at a call center in the middle of 50 other scammers who likely are infected. So, they have to stay home and forget about scam calls for a while just to survive. The scam is a failure if the scammer dies from coronavirus.davebodner wrote:Yeah, I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why is that?garys wrote: ...The good things about all this are.

They don't actually have a choice, India is part way through a national, 21 day, lock down.garys wrote:Not too many of the scammers are brave enough to sit in their little cubicle at a call center in the middle of 50 other scammers who likely are infected.
