7/91 manual no apparent reference to relieving tension.
I bought my bandsaw from a Shopsmith store in 1990. It has the cast iron table. The manual that came with it is marked Copyright 1984, rev. 03/88. It has 55 numbered pages. There is no reference to reducing blade tension for storage.
Other notable differences to the linked, newer manual are the earlier manual is a three column format as opposed to two columns in the newer manual, and the 03/88 manual has photographs where the newer manual has only illustrations (line drawings).
I'm going to guess Shopsmith eliminated the photographs when they shifted to the aluminum table, and didn't want the expense of re-taking all of the photographs. Just a guess.
