I just did a rough length check on my control sheave hub length.

mkVII hub length is apporx. 1 1/16".
mkV hub length is approx 1 1/8"; so with a little machining it should work.

FWIW a M5/MV headstock will work(with M5/MV functionality) on a MVII IF the front way tube is replaced with one without the gear rack.

With the other MVII attributes that would be an improvement over a M5/MV!

I believe what I’m going to try and do is get the Mark V control sheave machine it down first. If this doesn’t work I’ll look in to the headstock! Thank you guys

That takes care of the control sheave, now about the bearing and "U" part????

BTW the "U" part is a cam follower.

Right as I was taking it off it was still in place But hanging on by a thread!You think I can replace the with Mark 5/V speed controller?

replacing the speed control with a mkV speed control has been done but I think it's a fairly big job. there is a thread on this forum somewhere where someone did it.
From your pics it looks like your cam follower is still in good shape if you can remove the inner bearing race without damaging it.

BTW, have you checked to see if your motor starts and runs in fwd and rev without the belt on before you stick anymore money into it? mkVII motors are rare also.

Oh just for your info that cam follower has a right way and a wrong way to fit on the cam.

Yes motor runs and I figured the cam goes on certain way I took a picture of it before I removed it! I can try and get the inner bearing removed tomorrow will see

Well I broke it trying to get the outer shell of the bearing out anyway to repair?

I tried with epoxy repairing one less damaged than yours and the success was short lived. I was fortunate to get one on e-bay. Keep watching! Epoxy AND a sleeve may work. How worn is the bore and keyway?
