Hi Chuck,

I think the post by Nick that you are refering to is in the thread entitled 10-in-1 tool. It was back in March 08. I got to the thread by searching Nick's posts and keyword Smithy.

A German company, Felder, markets their CF531 combination machine here in the USA. This machine incorporates a saw, planer, joiner, shaper and other functions in a single machine - not really a direct competitor to the Shopsmith or Super Shop. http://www.felderusa.com

This is a very solid, heavy, and expensive machine. It probably has limited home workshop potential. I suspect that it's weight would cause it to be permanently fixed in position.
