To add another detail: if the spring is completely relaxed, don't turn the quill advance handle backwards. Only turn it clockwise (when facing the speed control side of the SS). And once you have some tension on the spring, don't let go of the handle and let it snap back while the quill is out. The momentum of the handle can turn the spring backwards and disconnect or even damage it.

It was 3 turns until it stopped but that worked theme guys

Well became a real expert putting the spring back on. So fixed it was the tension thanks everyone
