Well, I'm pretty much ready to fire it up. I have headstock and quill bearings, lathe centers and a wedge lock that should be here Wednesday. I still need a rip fence and a tool rest

Here's what I did:
Disassemble everything.
Clean, polish and wax way tubes.
Clean, polish and wax everything that slides on the way tubes.
Disassemble and clean motor.
Disassemble, clean and lubricate speed changer
Rewire and ground motor
Clean polish and wax table bars and the holes they slide in.
Disassemble headstock and remove all bearings
Clean quill and quill lever assembly
Reassemble everything except the Headstock.

FWIW, I think I should be able to claim rebuilding 3 of these. That's how many times I've taken it completely apart over the weekend.

Before and after pics below.

Good job, it’s looking almost usable. And you have the key missing pieces coming. You should be using it this weekend, depending on whether you had the time to install the final hardware. Enjoy.

I look forward to seeing it when it is finished. Are you still looking for a Rip Fence and a Lathe Tool Rest? Do remember you can use any of the four versions of the Rip Fence although I do not recommend the original (first) one that did not have a rear lock. As for the Lathe Tool Rest assembly any Model 10 be it from a 10E or 10ER will work and unless you get the original 8" two-piece rest, the single casting 8" tool rests are pretty much the same. Even the 8" tool rest made today is pretty much the same. Only a bit of a difference between the early and later arms and posts. For use I do like the posts that have the machined indent for the arm's set screw as shown below.

I bought a Rip Fence and it should be delivered soon. I am in the process of manufacturing my own tool rest that I can make different rests for. I'm starting with a 6" and 14" straight rest just to make sure my idea is going to work. If that works I I might try to make a curved one too. I'm not a manufacturing genius so we will see how it works. I'll post pics when I get it done. I'll still look for a stock model but this will give me some time for that since they have seemed kind of expensive when I have seen them.

One accessory I would like to find is the jointer cutter. I'm not even exactly sure what I'm looking for but I am pretty sure they made one that will work with the shaper fence I have.

I would only use the model 10 jointer head with the model 10 specific fence that mounts in the table insert.

That is the shaper fence the OP referenced.

They are occasionally available on eBay.

I mentioned that since the m5/m10 version shaper fence was in the first post(page 2).

The documentation for the shaper attachement I have says you can use it for "light jointing operations" with cutter 12-230. You are saying I shouldn't use it for that?
