Watching a YouTuber redoing his roof bought osb for $37 a sheet which is terrible when you consider they once sold it for $10. In any case he needed a few more sheets, price $50 a sheet.
He didn't go into a lot of detail but mentioned the dimensioned lumber prices went up just as bad.
Daughter is building a house the home builder is charging her about 2 to 2 1/2 times what I would have built the house for in 2004. After she signed he showed her his new prices they went up an addition 30%.
Materials is pricing wood workers out, especially when completion in against foreign wood workers that buy their raw material at less than 25% of what we have to pay in the US.
