Can non-subscribers see any but the most recent videos? I think most of them were only accessible to non-subscribers for a short time after they were originally posted. I am subscribed to My Growth Rings so I can see all those videos but don't know if others can.

Only subscribed members can view all of the video. You have full access to any of the My Growth Rings videos.

Sometime around December of 2020, Scott monetized his channel.

So now, if you are not a member, you can only view the Stumped Q & A video for the first week after the date they are posted. After a week, they become private for channel members.

P.S. Scott had nothing to do with all of the videos being posted on this forum. No one is making money off of the videos being posted on this forum.

If you are not subscribed to Scott's YouTube channel you are probably not interested in his videos in the first place. The ones that are only visible for a short time (one week) are his mid week Stumped Q & A videos. After a week they are only available to channel members that have Joined ($) his channel. There is a difference between being subscribed and joining a YouTube channel.

Not true. In the excerpt below from one of your postings, it clearly points out that affiliate links are being used which would result in financial compensation to the entity attached to the affiliate link.

"A few viewers have requested I provide affiliate links to help them find the products I use and as a way of supporting the channel through commission. If you purchase a product or service with the links I provide, there is no additional charge to you. I always recommend shopping around for a better price. Thank you for supporting My Growth Rings! Scott"

I'll post the following in each section of the forum:

Scott had nothing to do with posting the My Growth Rings videos on this forum. By the way, I'm finished with posting My Growth Rings videos, until a new one comes out. At that point it will be posted in the appropriate section on the forum. They are not on this forum to make him money. The only way they generate money, is if you CHOOSE to use and affiliate link.

Scott wants your input. Everyone on the forum who wants to participate, can do so if they'd like. The thinking is that many of you do not want to be active on Youtube. That is understandable and understood. So, the My Growth Rings videos are posted on here on the forum. You can remain here, but still participate in the discussions and be apart of My Growth Rings, if you choose to do so.

So, I posted all of the My Growth Rings videos are posted on the forum for you to be involved. Each on posted in the appropriate section on the forum. The only videos that were duplicated were on safety; which are available to everyone, no matter which section of the forum you access.

That is true, but only if you choose to use the link. Having to link posted on the forum does not generate money in and of it's self.

I personally enjoy Scott's videos and I am subcribed to his channel -- but I haven't joined his channel (which, as jsburger points out, costs $ and is the only way to see the mid-week videos after a period of time).

You've posted his videos here in the past and I've been fine with it. But for me the last several days have been a bridge too far. I'm sure you were motivated by thinking you were doing the forum members a service (you say you did it for us to be involved), but to me this felt intrusive and spam-like because it essentially consumed the entire forum for a couple of days and force-fed me a constant diet of Scott. And many of those links aren't available to me (or I suspect most of us) because I haven't joined his channel.

Just my $0.02. And I hope no hard feelings.

One observation, the older stumped are available to non-subscribers.(me)

P.S. Really 100 links! That indicates the measure of Scott's interest.

I suggest those 100 posts be put in a new thread for new comers to peruse.

It is only what Scott calls his mid-week follow-up videos that go behind a paywall after the first week. Anyone can always see the original first video. Think of it this way, the first video he posts on a topic is kind of like a 1st draft. He tries to get all of the relevant content into it, but sometimes things get missed. During his mid-week follow-up videos he answers questions that come up on the 1st video and sometimes he adds things he forgot as well. It is just these mid-week follow-up videos that disappear. Usually the first video is all you need, but sometimes some really interesting tidbits come up in those mid-week follow-up videos. You have to join his cult if you want to be able to see the mid-week follow-up videos after that first week!
