FWIW, it just happened again. I was logged in and commenting on a post, hit submit and all OK. Clicked the Board Index link and I was logged out when the Index page loaded. That is the first time since I started this thread.

Manage “Remember Me” login keys

The "Remember Me" login keys automatically log you in when you visit the board. If you logout, the remember me login key is deleted only on the computer you are using to logout. Here you can see remember login keys created on other computers you used to access this site.

I thought if you checked the Remember Me box for a web site it just remembers and automatically fills in your user name. You still have to enter your password. Is that not correct? I use the password manager Roboform (payed version) to automatically log me in to web sites. I have used it for 10+ years and it is still being actively supported and updated.

This site logs me out after an unknown (to me) amount of inactivity. Somewhere in an hour or so.

Anyhow, I am being logged out randomly when I am actively navigating the forum. So, I am not sure how Remember Me is an issue since I have never used it.

John,
You are correct about the “remember me” box on website login pages.
However, the random log out issue sounds like a browser issue. The page may be cached in your browser and could be trying to authenticate the session through an expired cookie. If you simply Clear your browser's cache, it will fix the issue if this is the case.
